Mike Hartshorne's Year in Review
2024 was another remarkable year for Mike, packed with adventure,
exploration, and community impact! This spring, Mike and Michael had the
privilege of attending the Royal LePage Chairman’s Club retreat in the stunning
city of Barcelona, followed by an unforgettable rendezvous with dear friends in
Munich, Germany.
Back on Vancouver Island, Mike embraced his love for local travel, exploring
the island and coastal communities more than ever before. From Jordan River to
Tofino, Port Alice to Powell River, each stop added a new layer of appreciation
for the beauty of the Pacific Coast.
A newfound passion emerged for Mike this year: pickleball! Most Sunday
mornings now find him on the courts at Beacon Hill Park, perfecting his game.
Meanwhile, his French Bulldogs, Mitzi and Steve, continued to fill his home
with their adorable antics, especially as they kept up their friendly rivalry
over who gets the prized chew toys.
One of the year’s highlights was Mike’s work with the Royal LePage Shelter
Foundation. Participating in the Night Walk event, they raised over $20,000 for
The Cridge Centre for the Family, a cause close to his heart.
Looking ahead, Mike is eagerly anticipating some sunshine to close out the
year, as he and Michael prepare to relax on the beaches of Mexico. Here’s to a
wonderful holiday season and an even brighter 2025!

As we close out the year, I’m filled with gratitude for the wonderful
clients, friends, and family I’ve had the pleasure of working with. It’s been a
year of memorable family moments and exciting travels, starting with Toronto
for the RLP conference in April, exploring the city and Niagara Falls with Guy
and Wesley, both of them experiencing it all for the first time. Our summer
road trip through the Rockies was another highlight, capped off with a visit to
West Edmonton Mall and Jasper before the wildfire, reminding us how important
it is to appreciate the beauty around us. I was lucky to spend a week with friends
at the RLP National Sales Conference in Calgary, where I
connected with colleagues from across the country. This fall we cruised
from Vancouver to California, soaking up the sun and exploring Warner Bros and
Universal Studios, a real treat for Wesley, who’s passionate about
movie-making.
On the giving-back front, I’m incredibly proud of our team’s efforts with
the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation. We participated in the Night Walk in
support of women’s shelters in our area, raising over $30,000
for this important cause. It’s a cause close to my heart, and next year, we’re
hoping to have even more people join our team and help us make an even bigger
impact. At home, we’re celebrating Murphy’s second birthday and Wesley’s
continued growth—he’s been busy coding at Code Ninjas, swimming, and playing
basketball with his team. Thank you to everyone who has trusted me to help find
their dream home this year—it’s been an absolute pleasure, and I’m looking
forward to more great memories and milestones in the year ahead!

2024 is coming to a close and again I am feeling so grateful for all our amazing clients and friends who make it possible for me to get up every morning excited about what I do. Helping you is my passion! Thank you to each and everyone of you. 2024 was a challenging year but here we are in the last few weeks and it wasn't so bad ! Last year at this time I was in Ecuador in the Andes, participating in "The Royal Lepage Challenge for Shelter"Next year I hope to be in Cambodia ! Women and Children escaping violence in the home need our continued support! Stay tuned for details about that Challenge. I love where I live and hike whenever I can. This year I joined the Bear Mountain Activity Center as it is close to home. Its a great facility and a supportive and friendly place to connect ( and chat Real Estate when the opportunity arises :)) I wish you all a wonderful holiday season! But mostly I wish you all health, success, love and adventures in 2025.

Happy Holidays everybody! I hope everyone has had a happy and prosperous year in 2024. It has been fun and challenging helping our clients navigate and respond to the ever shifting market and rate and rule changes, and as always we appreciate everyone for working with us. This year our son Finnley started grade four, and our daughter Taylor started grade two. It's a daily adventure seeing the amazing little people they are growing into. Our travels this year have taken us to Palm Springs at my in-law's place, California for a lacrosse tournament and then again for my first Dallas Cowboys game with Finn, and we are surprising the kids with a boxing day cruise! It has been a different way of life for me without playing lacrosse, but being able to coach full time and see my family full time makes it worth it. Wishing everyone safe and pleasant holidays, and all the best in 2025!

Happy Holidays! 2024 has been another great year with the South
Island Home Team filled with exciting opportunities, new adventures, and plenty
of time spent with our amazing clients.
It’s been great catching up with so many of you at our events
this year. I always love hearing about what you’ve been up to and how much
you’re enjoying your new homes. We feel incredibly grateful to have the
opportunity to work with you all!
Outside of work, it’s been a year full of memorable experiences
and travels. Steve and I took an unforgettable trip to Europe this fall, where
we got engaged! We also had the chance to visit beautiful spots closer to home,
including Tofino and the Shuswap. Steve, our dog Cash, and I are looking
forward to a busy holiday season at home with our friends and family, and can’t
wait to see what the New Year brings!
